About:

Specialising in Printed Textile Design my work focuses on layering textures, building up simple repetition and using vibrant colour to create contemporary decorative prints. I combine hand drawn elements and computer aided design to ensure that the spontaneity and irregularity of hand drawn illustration is retained when paired with digital techniques.

My designs begin by generating imagery via theme or process driven techniques using pen, ink and watercolour. This choice of media enables my drawing style to embrace the natural imperfections that occur when creating by hand. I take inspiration from the natural world and everyday objects by exploring and abstracting details through drawing and mark making. A wide range of influences enables me to produce collections that include illustrative and abstract designs to ensure that each project contains a varied selection of complimentary prints. Through merging a broad range of techniques my work uses the best qualities of both traditional and digital designing.
